Senior Capstone Survey Help: How much do you love your hair? (Delorme-Metayer) All Classes

Hello everyone!!

Sofia Daffin is a senior here at Boston Latin School. She is currently a member of the BLS Senior Capstone class, and her intended final project is to create a documentary focused on black hair discrimination within public school systems and the impact that hair racism and eurocentric beauty standards can have on African American youth. As part of her research, she is looking for black students currently attending Boston Latin who would be willing to participate in a filmed interview and/or answer some questions about their relationship to their hair. The goal of this is simply to foster an open conversation about students’ personal hair experiences and learn more about their evolving perception of hair throughout their lives.

The link to the survey is listed below. It should take no longer than 5 minutes, and it’s completely anonymous, so please answer each question as honestly as possible. If you are interested in participating in an interview with Sofia, please make sure to let her know at the end of the form or contact her at sdaffin@bostonk12.org.

Thank you all for your time, and have a great day!

Yearbook Photos for Class I (Stiven) Class I

As your official school photographer, Chestnut Hill Studios is pleased to offer Class I the opportunity to schedule an appointment at a reduced cost to be photographed for your senior portrait on-site at Boston Latin School. Please call the studio @ 508-336-4777, Monday-Friday 9:30 am- 4:30 pm to book an appointment. Dates currently available for our first round are December 20, 21, and 22 from 1:54-6:30 pm each day. Appointments are issued on a first-call basis. The photographerā€™s time will be reserved for you and will require a pre-payment of a $45.00 sitting fee when you schedule your appointment. The studio accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. This is a reduced sitting fee again this year made possible through the cooperation of the administration and the studio.

It is important that you arrive on time for your appointment or it can not be guaranteed that the studio will be able to fit you in to be photographed that day. You may be asked to reschedule, and you will be charged a $45.00 rescheduling fee. Should you elect not to schedule to be photographed during the times that the studio is on-site at Boston Latin School, and if you wish your portrait to be included in the yearbook, you will be required to travel to the studio in Seekonk to be photographed for your portrait. Please visit the Chestnut Hill Studios website. I will periodically receive a list of students who have not booked an appointment with the hope that our goal to have every member of the class represented in the yearbook is fulfilled. Booking your appointment ensures that your professional, retouched portrait is included in the yearbook. Please do not wait until the last minute to schedule your appointments. Dates for an additional two rounds will be coming after the first of the new year.

It is important to note that Yearbook pictures may only be taken with Chestnut Hills Studios. We will not be accepting any pictures from outside sources. Those who do not take a picture will not have a spot in the Yearbook.
