BLS Student Information Sheet (Clougherty)

All students are required to complete this form and will be given time tomorrow in extended homeroom to do so. You will need to know your Student ID#, parent/guardian contact info, and emergency contact info. Make sure to also check SIS (once it’s working again) to see if there is any information that needs to be corrected).

Club Registration (Murray)

Club registration is now open! This year our whole process will be digital. All clubs need a faculty advisor, and each club will create a flyer, a zoom meeting link and a google form for new members. Check out the link on SIS and if you have any questions, email Ms. Murray at dmurray@bostonpublicschools.org

BLS is a Super Site!-Kwan

Students learning remotely can come to BLS or any of our Super Sites and receive 5-day meal packs with 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. When hybrid learning begins, meals will be available to students attending school in-person on the days that they are in school. Students will also receive 3-day meal packs on the last day of the week they attend school in-person (Tuesdays for Group A and Fridays for Group B). bostonpublicschools.org/freemeals.

Virtual Schedule Reminders (Skerritt)

Students are reminded that our current virtual schedule is built around Day 1 of the traditional BLS schedule displayed on SIS.

Mondays serve as our “anchor day,” when all seven periods meet. On Tuesdays-Fridays, students’ core academic classes are stretched over two days. The Day 1 schedule should be used to fill in core classes on every day of the week.

Students can then find their “specials,” including music, art, and theater, physical education and health on the supplemental schedule. The specials run on a two week cycle, so make sure you make note of your section meeting times during both weeks. Your specials should fit into blank spaces on your schedule if you used Day 1 for your core classes. For a refresher on how to create your schedule, please see the video developed by Hailey Harold, Class I: Translating the BLS Schedule: A Tutorial.

No Test Day – Monday, September 28 (Skerritt)

In recognition of Yom Kippur, there will be no in-class tests or quizzes on Monday, September 28. Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, is considered the holiest day of the year by those of the Jewish faith. Students who observe the holiday will be marked constructively present and allowed full makeup privileges.
