Come Celebrate Kwanzaa with B.L.A.C.K.! Kwanzaa is an African-American holiday that began during the Civil Rights Movement. Also known as “The First,” Kwanzaa is a 7-day holiday in which each day is devoted to celebrating the seven basic values of African culture or the “Nguzo Saba .” These seven principles are Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), and Imani (Faith).

BLS B.L.A.C.K. (Black Leaders Aspiring for Change & Knowledge) will be hosting our Kwanzaa celebration in room 114 (Ms. Pinchem’s room) on Wednesday, December 21 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!
