BLS Debate Team Experiences Competitive Success! (Yoruk) All Classes

Over the weekend, members of the Boston Latin School Speech and Debate team competed at Lexington, Durham, and the NSDA Congress Qualifier. Here are highlights from this weekend!

At the Lexington Winter Invitational, Sam Chen(III) and Neil Jin(III) reached the semifinals, while Selina Tang(II) and Cinly Mo(II) reached the octafinals. The teams were awarded a gold bid and silver bid, respectively, to the Tournament of Champions (TOC) national tournament in April!

At the National Speech and Debate Congress Qualifiers, Zachary Chen(III) placed 2nd in the Congress House, qualifying for the National Speech and Debate Tournament in May! Maya Nelson(II) placed 4th in the Congress Senate, receiving a second alternate.

At the Cavalier Invitational hosted at Durham Academy, Michelle Zhang(II) reached the semifinals in Impromptu Speaking and Mira Yu(II) reached finals, placing 6th in the Program of Oral Interpretation.
