FemInSTEM is hosting guest speaker Emily Wong on Tuesday May 25th from 2:30-3:30. Dr. Wong is an infectious disease physician-scientist whose work focuses on the interactions of HIV and TB in the lungs and in the population. Based in Durban, South Africa, Dr. Wong is on the faculty at the Africa Health Research Institute and an assistant professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Join us to learn about what it’s like to be an infectious disease physician, various other careers in the field, and Dr. Wong’s experience as a woman in STEM.
