The English Department is pleased to announce the results of the annual Scripps Spelling Bee for students in Classes V and VI. Our first place winner will represent BLS in the city-wide bee, whose winner goes on to the state finals in advance of the national bee later this spring. Our BLS winners are: First place: Cole McKittrick, V; Second place: Josephine LoRosso, VI; Third place: Jack Lambrecht, VI.
Congratulations to our winners and to all participants who competed so well and cheered each other on.
Special thanks to BLS parent volunteers Vali Tamm, Alicia Zipp, and Valerie Uber for their time and expertise in running our bee again this year; to Ms. Kelley, Program Director of Modern Languages, for serving as the BLS administrator and hosting our Zoom meeting; and to Ms. Skerritt for her enthusiastic attendance. Great work by one and all! We extend our confidence and best wishes to Cole in the next round.
