Are you interested in cancer research or exploring the healthcare industry? Find out at BLS Science Team’s April Break field trip to the Koch Institute at MIT! The Koch Institute is a renowned research center focused on developing new cancer therapies. The field trip will include hands-on activities, a tour of the lab, and a Q&A with a researcher.
Session 1: Middle School Program (Investigation Program) on Tuesday 4/21, 2-4 PM Introduction to “What is Cancer”, activity about targeted drug delivery; “How can seaweed help treat cancer?”; a tour of a lab floor or the Koch Institute Galleries; and a Q&A with a researcher.
Session 2: High School Program (Cancer Research Program) on Thursday 4/23, 2-4 PM Introduction to “What is Cancer”; “The Fault In Our Cells,” an activity best suited for high school students that explores tumor heterogeneity and chemotherapy resistance; tour of a lab floor; and a Q&A with a researcher Registration Deadline: Monday, 4/13/26 Location: Koch Institute, 500 Main Street, Cambridge, MA
