Meet Dr. Irene Butter, author, speaker, and Holocaust survivor on June 4 (Pinchem) Class III, II

All current World History and Facing History students are cordially invited to virtually meet Dr. Irene Butter, retired professor from the University of Michigan (greatest college in the world), inspirational speaker, author of the book SHORES BEYOND SHORES: FROM HOLOCAUST TO HOPE, and Holocaust survivor on Wednesday, June 4 during W Block.

In March, Dr. Butter was granted Royal Recognition by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and received the Anne Frank Award for Human Dignity and Tolerance for her heroic effort of telling her story of survival as a Jewish child in not one, but two concentration camps in Nazi-occupied Europe. If you are interested in meeting this amazing and inspiring woman and learning more about her journey, please take a moment to complete this Google form. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to talk one-to-one with a Holocaust survivor and ask her questions directly!

A Zoom link will be sent to all students who complete this form on Tuesday evening.

Students who attend will have their names entered into a raffle to win a complimentary copy of Dr. Butter’s book. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Pinchem in Room 114 or via email at cpinchem@bostonpublicschools.org.
