Faculty vs Student Basketball Game (Updated Roster) (Levesque) All Classes-Updated

Student Council will host the annual Faculty vs Student Basketball game this Friday (May 2) at 2:30 in the Roche Gymnasium. Faculty players include Mr. Gallagher, Mr. Galego, Ms. Sample, Mr. Osowiecki, Mr. McQuade, Mr. Smith (History), Mr. Smith (Math), Mr. Fearon, Mr. Fogel, Mr. Hooker, and Ms. Encarnacao. Referee with be the Men’s Varsity Team Assistant Coach, Mr. Smith, and Head Coach Mr. Etienne will also join us. Tickets are $3 before, $5 at the door, or $5 worth of non-perishable food donations. Ticket will be sold during lunch on Thursday and Friday. All proceeds will be donated to a local food shelter. See you there!

BLS Crew Ergathon This Weekend (Fearon) All Classes-New

BLS Crew Ergathon 2025! Please support BLS Crew’s biggest fundraiser being held on Saturday, May 3 (9AM-3PM) at Christopher Columbus Park in the North End. During this event, BLS Crew athletes are sponsored to row on ergometers outdoors for one hour or 10K meters. Funds raised support rower financial aid, boat and equipment investments, and gear maintenance. So far we have achieved approximately 40% of our goal so any contributions through our fundraising website would be greatly appreciated: givebutter.com/CqLdkd.

BLCDC is accepting officer applications for the 2025-26 school year! Boston Latin Community Development Corps is a service club dedicated to serving the school community and the community of Boston. We are looking for students with a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. We encourage underclassmen to apply no matter the experience level. Buy Tickets to Asian Night 2025: Tour De Asia (Luu and Chen) All Classes-New

As this school year comes to a close, we hope you can join us for ASIAN NIGHT 2025: TOUR DE ASIA in the BLS Auditorium on Friday, May 16th! Doors will open at 5:00 PM and the show starts at 6:00 PM. You can buy tickets from any ASIA Officer starting Wednesday, May 7th for $7. If you don’t catch us before the day of, we’ll be selling a limited number of tickets at the front of the school at 4:00 PM for $10 each so make sure to buy yours as soon as possible!

NHS Applications (Finnigan) Class II, I-New

Juniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.5+ from 9th and 10th grades, and seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+ from 9th, 10th, and 11th grades, have been invited to apply for membership in the National Honor Society (note: students with major infractions or repeated minor infractions from the current or previous school year are not invited to apply, per the policy on p. 24 of the Student Handbook). All such students received an invite to a Google Classroom where they will find the application and important information for filling it out.

These are due no later than 11:59 pm on Wednesday, 5/7. Late applications are not accepted.

Catapulta science magazine is looking for article submissions for our spring issue, and we invite you to write about any topic or issue of STEM that interests you! Student Agenda Book Cover Design Contest- Deadline Extended to May 5 (Pierce) All Classes-Updated

Extended Deadline: Open to all BLS students, the opportunity to see your creation in print – 3,000 times over! We are seeking designs for the front and/or back cover for the new 2025-2026 Agenda Book (handbook) and would love your ideas. Entries can be in full color and should be created for a 5.5” by 8.5” book with a CMYK. Attention Class of 2026! It’s time to elect the leaders who will guide you through your senior year! If you’re interested in running for a senior class officer position (president, vice president, treasurer, or secretary), please review the important dates below carefully:

Monday, 5/5: Information Meeting — Come learn about the election process and officer responsibilities! This meeting will be brief and is mandatory. It will be after school in room 208. Please see Ms. Sarkis with any concerns.

Wednesday, 5/21: Primary Voting Wednesday, 6/4: Finalist Speeches — Finalists will deliver

Nominations Open – Crystal Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching (Levesque) All Classes

Student Council is now accepting nominations for Crystal Apple Awards in recognition of teaching excellence at BLS this past year. Three deserving teachers will be awarded, one of whom will receive the Gitner Family Award at graduation. Award recipients from the past 5 years are NOT eligible, which include Ms. Levin-Adler, Ms. Moguel, Mr. Bartoloma, Mr. Pietrangelo, Mx. Amico, Ms. Campot, Mr. Walker, Mr. Zou, Ms. Shipley, Ms. Stuppard, Ms. Kelly, and Mr. Sullivan (English). Nominations are due Saturday, May 3.

Boston Globe Foundation/Richard J. Phelps Scholar-Athlete scholarship program (Owens) Class I

This year, 18 total scholarships valued at $4,000 apiece will be awarded to one male and one female from MIAA Districts 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, one male and one female from Central Mass. (Districts 2/3), and one male and female from the city of Boston. The scholarships will be awarded based on excellence in academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities, and will go directly toward each student’s post-secondary education.

Please fill out the 2025 application and return it to the Boston Globe Foundation by Monday, May 12. Candidates must supply the required information with the application (official high school transcript and letter of recommendation from the principal, a guidance counselor/teacher, or a coach).

Tour Guides Wanted for May 3 Open House for Invited Sixies and Families (Pierce) Class III, II, I

Friendly and spirited students in Class III-I are needed as tour guides for incoming sixies and families at the Invited Student Open House on Saturday, May 3. Please sign up for one or both sessions: 8:30-10:45 with an 8:00 arrival and/or 11:00-1:00, with a 10:30 arrival here. There are also a limited number of spots for Class III students who speak a language aside from English. Those who have not done tour guiding before must stop by the Schawbel Center on either Wednesday, April 30 or Thursday, May 1, between 2:30-3:30. Those who have done tour guiding but do not have a lanyard must also come to the Schwabel Center. Community service hours will be awarded.

OneCard / M7 Replacements (Payne-Hall) All Classes

Hey Students! Due to the recent influx of requests this year for replacement OneCards, if you have requested and received two or more replacements this 2024-2025 school year, BLS is unable to issue you a replacement. You will have to head over the Bolling Building for your replacement card.
