Class I and II students wanted to help with an engaging project, judging student essays for the Max Warburg Courage Curriculum on Thursday, February 8, from 2:30-5:00 p.m. in the Electronic Classroom.
The Max Warburg Curriculum helps 6th-grade students identify and appreciate the impact courage has had on their lives. The program provides books/ materials to thousands of students in about 60 schools, all related to courage. A signature piece is that participants write essays on courage and how they have worked to overcome challenges (or seen this in others).
Every year, scores of individuals judge the writing and select essay winners from every school which are published in a book and placed in schools, and libraries. This is the second year that the program officials would like to enlist BLS juniors and seniors as judges.
As a volunteer, you would read essays and then decide with classmates which stories you think should be recommended. Community service hours will be awarded.
Interested students should sign up by Friday, February 2: Max Warburg Essay Judge Sign Up
