Boston University Upward Bound is a college prep program that works with high school students to prepare them for college. Students come after school to Boston University and receive tutoring, courses for MCAS prep (science, math, and English), and SAT prep. During the summer students live at Boston University for six weeks. Students who attend a public school and live in Dorchester, East Boston, Mattapan, and Roxbury can apply. The application process gives priority to students who attend our target high schools. Students need to be first-generation college potential or from low-income households to apply.
UB students benefit from MCAS prep in Science, ELA, and Math, SAT Prep, and academic support to help their GPA. Program services are at BU and provide students with exposure and resources available at a university campus. Students also go on field-trips and receive tutoring and mentoring.
The year-round program is free and this year we have 45 spots for new students currently in 9th, 10th or 11th grade to join. Attached is additional information about the program. You can also learn more at: youtu.be/q7jhjlNCdoI
