SEL Tip of the Week(Vasquez)

Self management, relationship skills and responsible decision making are the final three domains of social emotional learning. When we think and use all five we begin to notice a shift in our thoughts, relationships and communication skills. You are already most likely using some or all of these skills in your everyday life. Below you can find more information and tips on how to improve your skills.

1. Self management: the ability to control thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Setting boundaries and managing stress.

2. Relationships skills: skill of building and managing relationships by using communication, compromise, and empathy. Here is a short informational video about relationship skills.

3. Responsible decision making: ensuring we have the understanding and wide range of making decisions that support our goals and values.
