All Boston public schools run periodic fire and safe mode drills to help students and staff feel prepared in the event of an emergency. Earlier in the school year, we practiced fire and Safe Mode drills and this Wednesday, at 7:50 a.m. we will practice an additional Safe Mode drill.

To minimize any confusion or concerns that some people may experience, we want to let the BLS community know in advance that a Safe Mode drill has been scheduled. As a reminder, Wednesday, March 15 is a W Day and follows the W Day schedule. On Wednesday (Day 3), please proceed directly to your R1 class; there, your teacher will provide instructions.

Please know that these drills are not meant to alarm, but are to help us feel better equipped so that we can all act responsibly, safely, and collaboratively if there ever is an emergency. Thank you for your cooperation.
