APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FOR THE INAUGURAL HIGH SCHOOL COHORT OF BLACK MEN LEAD BOSTON
The City has opened applications for the Young Black Leaders Boston program. This program aims to help young Black men and boys in Boston’s high schools become more civically engaged in their communities. The 8-week spring course will start on March 7th and end on April 18th, with weekly hour-long coaching sessions focused on organizing their communities for social change.
The sessions are developed and facilitated by The Davis System LLC, which provides a grassroots organizing strategy to individuals, organizations, and communities across the country. The cohort will also meet with key City of Boston officials, members of the Black Men and Boys Commission, and alumni of Black Men Lead Boston to learn how to access crucial City services and effectively navigate local government. This program is an initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Black Male Advancement, which aims to empower Black men and boys and ensure they have equitable access to opportunities in the city.
