We are thrilled to announce that the application for Girls in Science 2023 is now open! This fully funded fellowship provides young women with the opportunity to expand their interest in science and technology and to build confidence through hands-on environmental research.
This year, fellows will either work alongside researchers in meadows of the Sierra Nevada mountains to collect data on native plants, drought prevention, and beaver dams on the expedition Restoring Sierra Meadows: The Source of California’s Water, or they’ll study the ecology and behavior of dolphins on the expedition Marine Mammal Bioacoustics and Conservation at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution expedition, in partnership with Woods Hole Sea Grant.
Who: Current sophomores and juniors (ages 15–18) who identify as female or nonbinary from California and Massachusetts high schools
When: June 24–July 1 and July 22–29 for the California teams, and August 6–12 for the Massachusetts team. You can apply now through March 24, 2023!
Fully-Funded Opportunity: This program is offered at no cost to the fellows. Food and accommodations will be provided.
