Geographic Data: An Enrichment Course for Students (Kennelly) Classes I, II, III, IV

This enrichment course, designed for students in grades 9-12, will introduce students to key concepts in mapping and data science using examples drawn from Boston—no experience needed! Students will develop informed perspectives on the relationship between widespread data collection and democracy; statistical bias and mapping; and urgent questions about race, place names and historical memory.

Participants will receive a $25 gift card. This enrichment course was developed with the Data + Feminism Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and was supported by the Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab.
