BLS Debate Team Continues Its Successful Season
This weekend, members of the Boston Latin School Speech and Debate team saw competitive success during the Glenbrooks National Speech and Debate Tournament.
Sam Chen (III) and Neil Jin (III) triple finaled in Public Forum Debate and received their second silver bid to the Tournament of Champions (TOC) national tournament in April.
Selina Tang (II) and Cinly Mo (II) reached octafinals, receiving a gold bid to the Tournament of Champions, earning recognition in a pool of over 350 competitors.
Maya Nelson (II) placed in Congressional Debate semifinals and received her second bid to the TOC, fully qualifying her to attend the prestigious tournament.
The team additionally competed at the local Little Lex Tournament, hosted by Lexington High School. Marcus Burkes Nossiter (III) was awarded top novice, going undefeated in Lincoln Douglas (LD) Debate
Bella Guthrie (III) and Zoe Fulton (III) continued on their winning streak with a winning record in LD Debate, and qualified for the Massachusetts State Championship at the end of the season.
Raymond Xu (I) and Ronak Saluja (I) competed in the Varsity Public Forum division, earning a winning record and qualifying for the Massachusetts State Championship.
