Thursday, November 4 marks the first day of five days commemorating Diwali, the Festival of Lights. Diwali is a significant holiday celebrated in many parts of India by people of different faiths including Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Muslims and some Buddhists. Diwali’s name is derived from the row of clay lamps that celebrants light outside their homes symbolizing the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. We wish our families who observe Diwali, a joyous festival, full of light and promise.
